EPTS silver jubilee: 25 years "Vienna Protocol"
Back in June 2001, representatives from nine different national transport scientific associations signed the "Vienna Protocol", the official founding document of the European Platform of Transport Sciences.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of this special event, the EPTS Foundation invited to a festive evening in Vienna. This was held at the Technical University Vienna on 06.05.2026, the day before the 24th European Transport Congress, which was hosted by our member ÖVG in the same place.
More than 80 participants of all generations and countries experienced an evening full of excellent entertainment and enriching conversation. We were given several international greeting messages and a festive lecture by Professor Ueli HAEFELI, Lucerne. Further highlights were the donation of the "Professor Hubert Bronk Award" to the Chair of the EPTS Executive Board, Professor János TÓTH, and the musical accompaniment by Duo Professores, Miroslav SVITEK and Ondrej PRIBYL, CTU Prague.
It was a brilliant venue, magnificently organised and with a perfect balance of dignity and levity to comfort all guests. A distinguished dinner buffet with local food and wine specialities completed this joyful evening, that many described as most exceptionally memorable.
Today the EPTS Foundation e.V. has 44 members from 22 different European countries. We are looking forward to developing the aasociation further in the upcoming 25 years and to become an even more diverse and sustainable organisation when celebrating our golden jubilee.
